STUDIO POLICY 2024

  1. STUDIO:
    1. Students are provided with a studio calendar which details lesson weeks, concert dates and all other studio events.
    2. Lessons are scheduled in 4 terms in accordance with the Queensland State School Calendar. No lessons are scheduled during school or public holidays.  
    3. Office hours are Tuesday – Thursday 9:00am-3:00pm. Please contact 0414605012 or admin@brilliantmusic.com.au 
       
  2.  ENROLMENT
    1. Enrolment is via the online form: https://brilliantmusic.mymusicstaff.com/New-Student-Enrolment 
    2. A Registration Fee is payable upon enrolment.
    3. Students will automatically be re-enrolled each Term unless notice is given by the final lesson of the current term that the student will not be continuing.
       
  3. TUITION:
    1. Tuition is term based. 
    2. Minimum commitment is 1 full term. Commitment renews each term.
    3. If a student enters the studio other than at the beginning of the term the initial tuition fee will be adjusted and the standard fee will come into effect on the first day of the next billing cycle.
    4. Inclusions: Tuition is all-inclusive of core curriculum, concerts/recitals, access to studio materials,  learning apps, student/parent portal, social events; access studio licenced music and printing.
    5. Exclusions: Tuition does NOT include Exam fees; Eisteddfod or other external competition fees; or student-requested supplementary sheet-music. These will all be discussed with the bill-payer before the cost is incurred.
       
  4. PAYMENT:
    1. The default payment frequency is Monthly whereby the term tuition fee is spread equally over three (3) monthly payments charged in advance on the 1st day of each month as follows:
      1. Term 1: January, February, March
      2. Term 2: April, May, June
      3. Term 3: July August, September
      4. Term 4: October, November December
    2. Termly and Yearly payment in advance options are available if requested. 
    3. Payment is via AutoPay and is automatically debited through Stripe and coordinated using the MyMusicStaff software determined by the payment frequency as follows:
      1. Monthly: on the 1st of every month
      2. Termly: on the 1st of January, April, July and October
      3. Yearly: on the 1st of January (or upon enrolment)
    4. Students may log into the MyMusicStaff Portal at any time to view and/or edit their account and payment details.
    5. All payments are non-refundable.
    6. A late payment fee of $55 will be applied if your account is unpaid after the 7th of the month.
    7. If payment is not received by the 7th of the month the student's enrolment will be suspended and student will not be permitted to attend lessons until the overdue amount has been paid.
       
  5. MISSED LESSONS:  

    1. Provided with 24 hours’ notice of an absence: 
      1. the student may be able to join another class in the week following their missed lesson (before their next regularly scheduled lesson) however, an opening in another class or suitable time is not guaranteed 
      2. if the student subsequently misses the arranged alternate class no further concessions will be made. 
    2. No alternate lesson will be offered for notice less than 24 hours or forgotten lessons.
    3. In the case of a student's prolonged serious illness or other exceptional circumstances, please reach out and arrangements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. 
    4. If the teacher is unwell or otherwise unable to attend a lesson, the lesson will be delivered by a substitute teacher, or a credit provided for the teacher's missed lesson.
    5. Public holidays: If a student's lesson day falls on a public holiday, an alternate lesson day will be offered for that week. If a student is unable to attend the alternate time a credit will be provided. 
    6. Please be punctual. If the student is late, he/she will miss that portion of the lesson.
       
  6. TERMINATING:
    1. Notice of intention to terminate lessons will be sent via the online form; https://brilliantmusic.com.au/unenrol/
    2. Students will continue to receive lessons until the end of the term when the termination will take effect.
    3. Tuition will be charged according to the tuition and payment policies until the term commitment (3 month’s tuition) has been met. 
    4. Refunds will not be issued.
    5. If a student does not intend to continue lessons in the following term, notice must be given by the last lesson of the current term.
       
  7. MEDIA CONSENT:  
    1. Student images and audio or video recordings may at times be included in promotional materials, shared on social media, included in articles in local newspapers, or posted on the studio website.
    2. Students will be identified by first name only.
    3. Students who wish to be exempted from publication may do so at any time by written request.
       
  8. THIRD-PARTY CONSENT:
    1. Brilliant Music Co. uses third-party programs (software, websites and applications) to provide high quality student learning opportunities. Where applicable, the email address provided when registering in My Music Staff may be used to create a student account within these third-party programs to provide student access and progress tracking within these programs.
       
  9. UPDATES TO STUDIO POLICY:
    1. The policies above are agreed to upon enrolment and may be changed at any time by Brilliant Music Co.
    2. A copy of the Terms and Conditions is available at https://brilliantmusic.mymusicstaff.com/Studio-Policy and may be emailed to the student upon request.
